Karina got her start in software development in 2017. Prior to that she worked in business support and customer service. She teaches coding classes for beginners in her spare time to help others interested in software development make a career switch. She holds a BA in Marketing from Michigan State University and a certificate from Grand Circus Coding Bootcamp.
Hakan is a full-stack software engineer and product developer. His prior experience includes CarServ, an ERP for automotive repair shops, Mutual Mobile, a product development agency with clients like Under Armour and Disney, and an NFT platform he built on the Ethereum blockchain. Hakan dropped out of the University of Texas at Austin to found his first startup at the age of 19.
Marcos has spent his past 5 years working as a software engineer at successful startups that now form part of larger companies, such as Rebellion Photonics which is now part of Honeywell. There, Marcos has had experience working with a wide variety of technologies ranging from computer vision, image processing, video streaming to heavy work with geographic mapping technologies and sleek modern front ends. Seeking new adventures, cooler weather, and mountains, Marcos has recently relocated from his hometown of Houston to Denver.
Mark loves designing and building software with small-but-mighty engineering teams. He has worked at companies big and small to create solid engineering foundations and to ship valuable things. Mark has a BS in EE, an MBA, a passion for functional programming languages, and a cat named Pickles.
Antonio has worked in the start-up space for the last five years, focusing on sales and customer success. His experience includes multiple tech industry verticals, including development tools, digital continuity software, healthcare document management solutions, and enterprise TEM solutions. He has a BA in Business Management from The University of North Florida and a Six Sigma certification.
Tyler spent the first ten years of his career at VoiceBox helping create and integrate best-in-class speech technology for partners like Chrysler, Renault, TomTom, and Toyota. Since then he’s worked on software with applications as varied as predictive marketing, shark population research, and fixed-wing drones.
Emory has spent the last 5 years bringing innovative solutions to industrial and skilled trades. Prior to co-founding genba, she held commercial and marketing roles at Fluke Corporation before joining Fortive's Growth Accelerator team as a Catalyst. There, she mentored high-performance innovation teams from companies such as Fluke, Industrial Scientific, Tektronix, and The Gordian Group.
For the past 20 years, Mark has led manufacturing and industrial operating companies. He has focused on the deck plate worker from his earliest days as a submarine officer until today running factories. The answer always starts at the technician level, but the challenge is getting information to where it can positively impact decisions.
